ന്യൂഡൽഹി: മുഖ്യ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് കമ്മീഷണർ ഗ്യാനേഷ് കുമാറിനെതിരെയും വോട്ടർപട്ടിക പരിഷ്കരണത്തിലെ ക്രമക്കേടുകൾക്കെതിരെയും ‘ഇന്ത്യ’ മുന്നണി നടത്തിയ പ്രതിഷേധ മാർച്ച് ഡൽഹിയിൽ നാടകീയ രംഗങ്ങൾക്ക് വഴിവെച്ചു. തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് കമ്മീഷൻ ആസ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് മാർച്ച് ചെയ്യാൻ ശ്രമിച്ച ലോക്‌സഭ പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ് രാഹുൽ ഗാന്ധി, പ്രിയങ്ക ഗാന്ധി വധ്ര തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രമുഖ നേതാക്കളെ പോലീസ് തടയുകയും കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
The detention of our Leader Shri @RahulGandhi, and other INDIA bloc leaders after hours of peaceful protest is deeply disturbing. They stood there because they refused to remain silent in the face of serious questions being raised about our electoral process. It is deeply concerning that those demanding answers are being stopped and detained instead of being heard. You can stop a march, but you cannot silence the questions of the people.
What happened today should concern every Indian who believes that those in power must be willing to answer, not silence those who ask questions. This is not a fight for one party or one leader. It is about every citizen’s faith in our democratic institutions and the belief that their voice will be heard. I stand firmly with Shri Rahul Gandhi and every individual who continues to speak for the people. The longer they try to suppress that voice, the stronger our resolve to defend our democracy will become. The democratic voice of India will not be deterred.

ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച രാത്രി എട്ടുമണിയോടെയായിരുന്നു സംഭവം. പ്രിയങ്കാ ഗാന്ധിയും കെ.സി വേണുഗോപാലും ഉൾപ്പെടെ 50 എം.പിമാരും 250-ലധികം പ്രവർത്തകരുമാണ് അറസ്റ്റിലായത്. പ്രിയങ്കാ ഗാന്ധിയെ കൊണ്ടുപോയ വാഹനം യൂത്ത് കോൺഗ്രസ് പ്രവർത്തകർ തടഞ്ഞത് ചെറിയ തോതിൽ സംഘർഷത്തിand കാരണമായി. രാഹുൽ ഗാന്ധിയെയും പ്രിയങ്കാ ഗാന്ധിയെയും പ്രത്യേകം വാഹനങ്ങളിലാണ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തത്. മറ്റ് എം.പിമാരെയും പ്രവർത്തകരെയും ബസുകളിലായി മാറ്റി. ആകാശവാണി ഭവന് സമീപം ബാരിക്കേഡുകൾ തീർത്താണ് പോലീസ് മാർച്ച് തടഞ്ഞത്.
കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്ത് ഏകദേശം രണ്ടു മണിക്കൂറിനു ശേഷമാണ് നേതാക്കളെ വിട്ടയച്ചത്. ഭരണഘടന ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിച്ചാണ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിൽ നിന്ന് രാഹുൽ ഗാന്ധി പുറത്തേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങിയത്. രാഹുൽ ഗാന്ധി ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ളവർ ഒമ്പതു മണിക്കൂറോളമാണ് വിവിധ ഘട്ടങ്ങളിലായി പ്രതിഷേധത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തത്.

തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് കമ്മീഷനുമായി കൂടിക്കാഴ്ച നടത്തണമെന്ന് രാഹുൽ ഗാന്ധി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും, ഇന്ത്യ മുന്നണി എം.പിമാരുമായി കൂടിക്കാഴ്ച അനുവദിക്കാനാകില്ലെന്ന് കമ്മീഷൻ നിലപാടെടുത്തു. അല്ലാത്തപക്ഷം പ്രതിഷേധം തുടരുമെന്നും തന്നെ വേണമെങ്കിൽ ബലംപ്രയോഗിച്ച് നീക്കാമെന്നും രാഹുൽ ഗാന്ധി വ്യക്തമാക്കിയിരുന്നു. ജനാധിപത്യത്തെ തകർക്കാൻ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദിയും അമിത് ഷായും മുഖ്യ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് കമ്മീഷണറും ചേർന്ന് ശ്രമിക്കുകയാണെന്നും ഇതിനെതിരെ ശക്തമായ നിയമപോരാട്ടം തുടരുമെന്നും രാഹുൽ ഗാന്ധി മാധ്യമങ്ങളോട് പറഞ്ഞു.
